What exactly is Custodian?

No. Before your information ever reaches our database, it's encrypted using the same technology that protects online banking. Even if someone accessed our servers, all they'd see is meaningless gibberish - the decryption keys are split between your custodians, not stored on our servers.

How does the 'multiple keys' custodian system work?

When you add an asset and secure it with a secret, Custodian creates multiple cryptographic key pieces and distributes them to your custodians using Shamir's Secret Sharing. To access the asset, a threshold number of custodians must combine their pieces - no single person can do it alone.
